This is my first year at 29. I walked it in to an early voting station here in Colorado. Felt good. I'v been out for a little over a year, just a fader, born in.

A quick Saturday Morning Survey - To believe or not to believe
by likeabird ini don't know about you, but i love saturday mornings...now that crawling out of bed on a cold november morning to go and knock on doors is no longer on the agenda.
does that sense of being free ever grow old?

Your first holiday season? Let's walk you through it real time
by rebel8 inso either you're out for the first time this year, or this is the first time you're thinking about celebrating some major holidays in some fashion.
first, congratulations.. second--i think those of us who did it blindly and alone could provide you with some ideas and insights.. ok, so it's just before thanksgiving in america, the official start of the christmas season.
this is good for you--it's the easiest holiday ever.

Even though I was born in my mother, hardcore indoctrinated, still had a thanksgiving dinner jjust not on that day. My MIL seems to do the same thing every year but I think it may be different this year because of my new stance on hollidays. My guess is she wont do anything to encourage celebraing this year. Time will tell. My wife and MIL are also hardcore indoctrinated.

I just took my son, who will be 4 in Dec, trick or treating. He loved it. His mom wasn't thrilled about it but she didn't protest too much. His birthday is less than 2 weeks from x-mas so I'm thinking of just celebrating that. Iv already bought him gifts and based on his excitement about halloween I know hes going to love his birthday. When he and his sister get older, shes 5 months, I will then decide whether or not to celebrate anything else. This is all new to me so I will be taking it slow.

Did I do a fade without knowing it?
by Aussie Oz inseeing that there a few new fade threads, and farkels hard to top one, got me to wondering if i actually faded without realizing it till 14 years later.... rewind to 1998 when i just plum ran out of steam.
too many years battling my personal demons resulted in a rapid cease function and in the course of a couple of months i went from m/s and the guy most likely to succeed to leaving wife and congregation.
i passed in asignments, stopped preaching and meetings cold turkey, handed back public talks etc.

To answer your topic question... yes I think you did. I did without knowing that was what is was called. in the months leading to me leaving I stoped commenting and only turned in one or two hours for service.

I had stopped cold turkey too. After several months of research I went to my last meeting. My wife was sick and wasn’t there because of morning sickness. I came in, talked to a couple friends then as the song was starting an elder’s wife asked me where my wife was and I told her she has morning sickness. I didn’t want to be there anymore so after the Sunday talk I got up and left and have never been back to a meeting, only once to another hall for a funeral…really depressing BTW. That was 13 months ago. I still live in the same house and my wife is still very loyal to the WTbullshit. The elders have contacted me a couple of times. The most recent I told them I didn’t believe in god, Jehovah and Jesus as our savior or anything that comes with it. I wonder if they will do anything with this latest info I shared with them a couple weeks ago.

by avishai inmy friend was counseled for having a bad attitude because he wore white socks w/ his suit.

I was counseled for not shaving 2 days worth of hair before operating the sound board for a meeting. The elder asked me if any other elders had talked to me about it yet. I said “no” and he said “ well if they do, you can tell them you were already talked to about it” I gave him a sarcastic thumbs up and said "OK". He looked kinda pissed that I did that. I think that was one of the last times I operated the sound system.
